Chynna Hibbitts, JD

Associate Director Government Relations, Pre Law Advisor

Chynna supports the Office of Government and Community Relations and has primary responsibility for the administration and strategic direction of Xavier’s Pre-Law program. Chynna was previously with Wilberforce University, where she served as Dean of Students, overseeing student conduct processes and ensuring institutional compliance with state and federal laws including FERPA, Title IX, and the ADA. Her legal career includes roles with the State of Kentucky, including the Administrative Office of the Courts and the Social Security Administration. She is a former criminal defense attorney, and prior to law school served as a legal assistant with the Appalachian Research & Defense Fund of Kentucky. She currently serves as a Governor-appointed member on the Kentucky Public Advocacy Commission.

She is a graduate of the University of Louisville (BS in Communications, minor in Sport Administration) and the University of Kentucky College of Law, where she served as Communications Editor for the Kentucky Law Journal and President of the Student Bar Association. She is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management.
