Dr. David J. Gerberry

Dr. Gerberry's area of research is mathematical biology. In the most general terms, mathematical biology is the use of mathematics to study biological processes. Most often this involves setting up mathematical models for a particular process and studying the behavior of the model.
His previous work has involved studying the dynamics of infectious diseases using dynamical systems models. In particular, he has looked at childhood diseases, tuberculosis, herpes, HPV and HIV.

Dr. Gerberry's interests include both the population level dynamics (epidemiology) as well as within host dynamics (immunology) and analyzing the cost-effectiveness of various interventions against infectious disease.
