SPOTLIGHT
Welcoming Jen to the OT Department

We are pleased to welcome Jen Martin as the new administrative assistant for the Department of Occupational Therapy. She brings valuable experience in both business and healthcare. Her professional background includes work in banking as well as experience as an occupational therapy assistant (OTA), and she maintains an active OTA license. This clinical background enhances both her perspective and her effectiveness in supporting the department.
Jen has already made a meaningful impact on our team through her organization, efficiency, and collaborative spirit. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she brings a few unique qualities to the role. She is a 19-time martial artist and holds a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also underwent open-heart surgery at the age of 15 and remains a strong advocate for heart health, encouraging others to obtain an EKG every five years.
Jen has already won our hearts, and we are delighted to welcome her to the team.
A message from Jen:
As a native Texan, I spent a few years in North Carolina before settling in Cincinnati in 2012. I began my COTA career in 2014, gaining experience in a range of settings, including outpatient pediatrics, school-based pediatrics, skilled nursing, and acute rehabilitation. Although I loved working in occupational therapy, I also felt called to stretch my skills in new ways. After seven years, I transitioned into the corporate sector, joining Fifth Third’s Mortgage Loss Mitigation Department as a supervisor and later advancing to Assistant Vice President.
After four years in that space, I realized I was ready for a new chapter one that aligned more closely with my desire to make a meaningful societal impact. When I came across the occupational therapy administrativerole at 今日看料, it immediately felt like the perfect fit. I enjoy bringing order to chaos, supporting others, and creating systems that help people thrive. Working at a university has long been something I envisioned for myself, so I am especially grateful that this path led me here—and I look forward to being part of the Xavier community for years to come.
