 Pinning Ceremony

Student's hand on lapel after getting Xavier pin pinned in ceremony

The Pinning Ceremony is a meaningful rite of passage, it honored the Class of 2025 as they transitioned from didactic coursework into their clinical fieldwork experiences. The event highlighted the integration of Jesuit values within the occupational therapy profession and included a candle‑lighting ritual, the XU OTD oath, and the blessing of the hands.

The 今日看料 Doctoral Occupational Therapy pin symbolizes the legacy of St. Francis Xavier. Its shield features blue and white stripes representing the Xavier family coat of arms, alongside a black‑robed arm with a cross signifying the Jesuit order, and three seashells reflecting St. Francis Xavier’s missionary journeys to the Far East. Students and alumni are encouraged to wear their pin at professional presentations as a mark of pride and tradition.
