XU Student OT Association
XU Student OT Association (XUSOTA) provides networking opportunities among classmates, a forum for student focus on professional activities, sharing of professional information, participating in community service, and the opportunity to become involved in the American Occupational Therapy Association and Ohio Occupational Therapy Association from a student level.
XUSOTA Semester Update
This semester, XU SOTA has been involved in a variety of engaging and meaningful activities. We welcomed Allison Allgier from the Brachial Plexus Center at CCHMC, who shared valuable clinical insights on BPBI presentation and contracture prevention. We also hosted a brief talk on post-stroke OT interventions, along with a fun and interactive valengram activity to strengthen mentor–mentee relationships in honor of National Heart Month and Valentine’s Day. Additionally, we learned from Chandler Murray (XU OT Alum), who presented on pelvic floor therapy and expanded our understanding of emerging practice areas. Beyond educational events, we also took initiative in advocacy efforts, working to support changes to OT education loan caps.
