How to Apply
Xavier uses an online study abroad system to facilitate the application process. When you log into the , you will be able to select your program, view all application requirements, upload documents, request recommendations and submit questionnaires.
Application Deadlines for 2025-2026; study abroad applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. These dates are the last day to apply for the term. Programs may be full prior to this date.
- Fall Break programs - August 25 -- applications available
- Spring Semester programs - September 1 -- applications available
- Winter Break programs - October 1 -- applications available
- Spring Break programs - October 1 -- applications available
- Summer programs - February 1 -- applications open in October
- Academic Year and Fall programs - March 1 -- applications open in November
Eligibility Requirements for Study Abroad
- Full-time, degree-seeking student
- Undergraduate students are eligible to study abroad starting with the summer following their first year
- Good academic standing with approval from academic advisor
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 (undergraduates), GPA of 3.0 (graduates)
- Good disciplinary standing
- Apply prior to Xavier application deadlines
Requirements for Study Abroad Acceptance
- Completed by posted deadline
- Paid application fee
- Clearance of disciplinary standing and GPA confirmation
Requirements after Study Abroad Acceptance
- Commit to program in and submit program deposit within 2-weeks of acceptance
- Submit Study Abroad Approval form for course registration
- Complete Pre-Departure Orientation
- Submit waiver forms to application portal
Visiting Students
Some Xavier faculty-led programs welcome non-Xavier students to enroll in our study abroad programs. Qualified applicants seeking a degree from an other college or university are eligible to apply. To apply as a visiting student to a faculty-led program, go to the faculty-led program's application page, click the "Apply Now" button, follow the prompts to login as a visiting student, then complete the application.
As part of the application, you will need to complete the Non-Xavier Student Home Institution Study Abroad Approval form through your home institution's study abroad office. Xavier recommends working with your study abroad office before beginning our application.
