Study Abroad Programs come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you are looking for a short-term faculty-led experience or a semester long program with service learning or an internship component, there is a program for you. Peru - Signature Education Abroad Program

Xavier partners with the Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya (UARM). UARM was founded in 2003. It is a private institution of higher education with a focus on comprehensive and humanistic training. It belongs to the AUSJAL network (Association of Universities Entrusted to the Society of Jesus in Latin America) and the IAJU network (International Association of Jesuit Universities).

Eligibility for the semester exchange is Sophomore, Junior, Senior, with a 2.5 minimum GPA. Apply by October 1st to participate in the Spring 2026 Semester launch of ��տ�� in Peru.

Xavier-Sponsored Semester

These programs are coordinated by another US institution or organization (such as USAC, Arcos Learning Abroad, AIFS, etc.) that provides extensive service and support during your study abroad experience. Many programs are offered through other Jesuit schools providing a great academic fit. Some programs offer service-learning or internship opportunities.

Direct Exchange Semester

These programs allow students to study at a foreign university with which Xavier has a special agreement. Often times students from these universities will study at Xavier for a semester, while you study there!

Xavier Faculty-led

Students can earn 3 to 12 credit hours on these short-term programs led by Xavier faculty during summer, spring, and winter breaks. Program duration is anywhere between 10-days and six-weeks long. Some programs are major-specific, while others offer core curriculum courses for any major to participate.

Xavier Expeditions

Students can earn 6 credits on these wilderness-immersion programs. The programs focus on our most basic role within the life-earth-universe story. Through wilderness immersion, Xavier Expeditions facilitate self-discovery of earth as our primary reality, healer and teacher.

Other Short-term Study Abroad Programs

Students can enroll in study abroad programs during winter, spring, and summer breaks through our education abroad providers such as USAC, API, AIFS, and others. Please contact the CIE (studyabroad@xavier.edu) if the program you are applying to is not listed.

Summer Internships and Research Abroad

Students can enroll in programs that specifically focus on internships and/or research abroad without a specific course/study component.

Program Search

Use the in the application portal to search for programs by country, region, term, types of accommodation, and/or area of study. Categories for area of study include the following: Arts & Performance, Athletics, Business, Communication, Core Curriculum, Education, Graduate Studies, Honors, Language, Politics, STEM, and Social Impact. The use of area of study will help you narrow if a program has certain types of classes. Students need to review courses available to ensure that they are compatible with course requirements.
